The energy is clean, abundant, easily mined, will provide PLENTY of time for new energy resources to develop, its cheap, and safe. Before someone goes crazy about nuclear waste, you should know that all of it is stored at the power plants in a permeant structure designed for containment. It is transported a few hundred feet down a hall, thats all the further it goes. Not to mention Japan is going to be 95% nuclear in 20 years. It would help develop Africa and cut down on nuclear weapon stock piles because that stuff makes great reactor fuel, all the work is already done as far as purification goes. Nuclear power can save the world or destroy it depending on how you look at it. Personally being a nuclear engineering student researching nuclear power, it is fascinating at how many problems it can solve. Did you kilowatt per kilowatt produced, coal is 100 times more radioactive than a nuclear power plant. Thats from thorium and radon being emitted, when burned these radioactive elements are released into the air and you and your family breathe that stuff. Nuclear power just sits there and boils water then gets moved to a waste tank for the rest of eternity, or at least the next few millennia. You get 3,000 times more radiation from a single x-ray at a hospital than you do working at a nuclear reactor for a year. in other words, you would have to live next door to a nuclear reactor for over 2,500 years to get the same amount of radiation as you do from an x-ray.

That's my main disagreement with Friedman, he denounces the possibility of nuclear fuel, or at least doesn't consider it a viable option. Think of all the electric cars you could power with that!

If one could make an accurate and effective defini...

If one could make an accurate and effective definition of climate change that would be a great place to start. The global temperature has gone down the last 10 years and yet CO2 production has gone up. Something seriously wrong with the model being used.
In Geneva over 600 climatologist disagreed with the concept of climate change as a result of man. So there is nothing like a concensus on climate change. It is more like listening to the radical left than anything else when talks about climate change are brought up.

Population growth is an issue no one can or really wants to argue that. The really issue is who gets to decide what is too much and who gets to say when is enough and how is it dealt with.

Most are missing the real point and this guy is no exception. We have several methods of making pretty clean, concentrated electrons right now. It is not the oil or coal companies preventing this it is "environmentalist".
The example of the wind farm not being able to connect to Las Angeles for 11 years. This was entirely due to court battles brought by eco-terrorist not letting right of way being established to put power lines in.

Talk about inconvenient truths!

There are several wind farms and solar farms being held up right now because of "greenies" saying we cannot build it here and we cannot build it there.

The talk about oil, coal, etc... being against all of this is just stupid crap and lies. Who makes up an oil company? The stockholders that is who! Think about it for a minute and see through some of the fog and rhetoric to some of the truth that is staring everyone in the face.

suppose you attack the points actually made in the...

suppose you attack the points actually made in the book?
